Website Creation
Creating the website for my FMP was pretty simple and easy, I used Wix for my previous 2 projects so I had the hang of it already. I created a new website because I was running out of room on my other one, and also just thought it would be smarter to have a separate website dedicated to my FMP.
I ran into some issues along the way or my text warping at random times for no reason, and the text messing up when I would write on the Macs. These issues were easy to resolve and didn't happen after a few weeks into the project which I am glad about. I wanted the layout to be simple and easy to navigate. I have done this by adding a menu at the top, side menus on pages to flick through specific sections, and arrows at the bottom of each page to be able to follow the project in a chronological order.
I was thinking of adding a few simple animations to make my website more interesting, but this would have been unnecessary and might be annoying to look at. Although it being simple isn't my style, I wanted to try and make it as professional as possible as I could show this to people as proof of my creative work, and my processes for it.
Planning

Throughout FMP I noted things down, and wrote my tasks for the day on the board to make sure I keep on task.

Evaluation
In conclusion, I am quite happy with how my final piece turned out. I had experienced a lot of hardships throughout the project. I genuinely didn't think I would be able to get everything done at one point, which stressed me out a lot. Nothing was going well, and it wasn't turning out how I wanted to. I had to learn how to compromise, and to understand that sometimes my work won't turn out exactly how I want it to. I also learnt that I need to take breaks, and to look at things with fresh eyes to truly understand how my work looks. When I stare at my creations for too long I start to become really annoyed with how it has turned out, which leads me to become discouraged or to break down out of frustration. However, I think that sometimes this is necessary for me. If I get too comfortable I will not grow and learn new things, or misunderstand how I process my work.
Keeping notes, to-do lists, and making screenshots all helped with when I had to write up my process. I can be forgetful, or lose track of time, so all of these helped me revisit what I did and how I did it in order to write it all up. I was a little annoyed with writing up my process because it was so different to doing research. With research, I was learning new things and I could see my plans morphing according to the research I was doing at the time, seeing how it influenced my final piece. When writing up the process, I got bored and annoyed with it. I don't enjoy writing, so writing up everything that I had already done and putting it into words was frustrating, especially since I knew everything already but couldn't focus enough to write it down. I had to overcome this, I kept repeating to myself that this is a very important part of my project, and if I didn't complete this everything else would've been for nothing.
I managed to finish both necessary scenes, and the others, ahead of time and what I had planned. I didn't follow my initial plan very well, I was late to some things and early to others. Even though I didn't follow the initial one, I tried to follow my to-do lists and other small plans per week as best as I could. I want to work on this more in the future, as I tend to be discouraged sometimes due to a variety of reasons. I do have to overcome this though as university and work will not be so lenient.
This project has improved my skills in modelling quite a lot. I stepped out of my comfort zone by modelling and rigging a proper character which I had never done before. This was an interesting experience, I went through a lot of troubles but in the end it was very rewarding. I do still have a lot to improve on, but for my first proper attempt, I can say that I am proud of it.
Animating was something that I wasn't very confident in before as I barely did any 3D animating. After some experience with this project, I believe that I am not as intimidated by it anymore. When animating, I thought you'd have to look at the whole thing at once which scared me. For me, I ended up working in small sections e.g., animate the knees, then the feet, then the rest. I don't really like the way my animations turned out, but now I know that in the future it is something I can pick back up again without worries. I believe with more practice I can become more confident in my animating skills and begin to create more complex animations.
When compiling everything onto the website I had some issues with the data limits, my images ended up being really high in size which was quite confusing because I didn't download any high quality images and tried to keep it as low as possible. This did cause some issues with what I uploaded, more specifically the files I need to show for the project like the Harvard reference sheet.
I have definitely come a long way since the beginning of my time at college. I learned several different programs whether they were 3D, 2D, or editing programs. I switched between the ones that suited me best, and have now found a program that I feel most confident in using for my 3D modelling. As I am going on to university after I finish this course, I will definitely put the skills I have learnt during this project and the others to use. This is one of the best pieces of work I have made, and even though I could improve in a lot of aspects, I am proud of how it turned out, more specifically the process that I went through to reach this point.
