End of Year Show Prep

To prepare for the end of year show I painted 2 canvases inspired by my final piece: one of the heavenly being seen in my animation, and another of an angel inspired by seraphim and thrones. For the heavenly being painting, I painted each circle by hand which was time consuming but also quite fun.

I also created a title board out of cardboard and scrapbooking paper so that the title of my FMP was clearer for people to see when they were coming towards me, and so that my theme was more obvious, which brought up questions from people as they were curious.

As for setting up my station, I ran into some troubles with the space that I originally got. The wings that I made and wanted to show were covering up the work from the people next to me, so I had to swap with another person and add on an extra table. To display the wings I brought in my mannequin and draped some scrap white fabric I had to make it look more presentable. After setting up my station, which included placing my artwork, wings, and folder full of previous work and concepts, it was time for the show.

I was quite scared before it started as I didn't know what to expect and I'm not very good with speaking to strangers, but it went much better than I had expected! I had people coming up and talking to me, asking questions and showing interest in project which I then felt passionate to talk about. I was nervous in the beginning but seeing people being genuinely interested in my project made me feel a lot more confident in speaking about it, being able to share my process and how I decided on the final piece felt nice after working on it for so long.
